Your documents, kept in your hands
Remy is built around a simple idea. The safest place for your documents is your own cloud drive, not ours. Here is exactly how that works and what we can and cannot see.
Your files live in your Drive, not on our servers
When you connect Google Drive, Remy creates one folder and saves your documents there. We never store the files themselves. If you disconnect Remy or delete the folder, your documents are still yours and still in your Drive.
The narrowest possible access
Remy asks Google for a permission called drive.file. In plain terms, that means Remy can only see and manage the files it created for you. It cannot browse the rest of your Drive, open your photos or read anything else. It is the most limited access Google offers for this job.
What we actually keep
To do its job, Remy stores a small amount of information: your WhatsApp number and name, the details it read from your documents (like an expiry date and document number), the names of the family members you add, and the secure tokens that let it reach your Drive folder. We do not keep your document files.
The sensitive fields we do store, your Google access tokens and document numbers, are encrypted at rest, so even a copy of our database is unreadable without the separate key that unlocks it.
Encrypted connections
Every connection between you, Remy and your Drive uses standard encryption in transit. Your documents travel over a secure link on their way to your own storage.
How Remy reads your documents
Remy uses an AI model to read a document and pull out the useful details. We use providers on their paid business tiers, which do not train their models on the content you send. The image is used to read your document and is not kept by Remy after that.
You are always in control
- •Disconnect your Drive at any time from the dashboard or from Google’s own security settings.
- •Delete your data with a single message. Remy removes your details straight away.
